William “Bill” J. Sullivan, Jr.

William “Bill” J. Sullivan Jr., age 82 of Cumming, died March 13, 2024. Bill was born in New Brunswick, Canada and grew up in Savannah. He graduated from Southern Technical College in Marietta. Bill married Judy Elizabeth Thornburg of Charlotte in 1971 and they resided in Duluth until retirement. Bill was a District Sales Manager with Cotton States Insurance and after 24 years of service, he and Judy moved to Pass Christian, MS where they lived for 23 years. They moved to Cumming in 2021 to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Bill was an amazing inspiration to so many that came in contact with him and he will forever remain in the hearts and minds of those who knew him. Almost everyone in Duluth and Pass Christian knew Bill and liked him. He made everyone smile and was always there with a witty joke to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Throughout the years he helped so many people in both life and business. He truly cared for people and was always there to listen no matter who they were or what they were going through. Bill always went out of his way with a kind word and a smile to make people feel happy and loved.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents William J. Sullivan, Sr. and Anne Josephine Cahoon, and three sisters and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Judy Elizabeth Sullivan, children Mary Ann Sullivan Schroeder (Brian) & Diane Elizabeth Grant (Troy), grandchildren Phoebe Elizabeth Schroeder and Hutchinson Zeller Schroeder, twin sister Patricia Sullivan, and brother Michael Sullivan (Susan).

A memorial service will be held at McDonald and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, March 21, at 1:00PM, immediately followed by a reception.
