William Russell Fillingim

It is with great sadness that the family of William "Russell" Fillingim of Cumming, Ga announce his passing on April 13, 2018 at the age of 60. He was born the eldest child of the late Bill and Alice Fillingim of Decatur, Ga. Russell attended DeVry University and after graduation accepted a position with Harris Computers in Ft Lauderdale, Fl. While in Florida, Russell enjoyed his love of Classic Southern Rock, science fiction and pursued his love of flying by obtaining his pilot's license. After the birth of his son, Bryan, Russell moved back to Atlanta. He continued his career in IT to become a Global IT Professional with Equifax.

Russell was a loving husband to his wife, Carol for 32 years. He is survived by his two children, Bryan Fillingim and wife Ashleigh of Buford, Ga and Nicole Helton and husband Gene of Ball Ground, Ga, one granddaughter, Catherine Fillingim.

He is also survived by his sisters, Jan Fillingim, Amy F. Foy, and Lisa F. Joyner, one brother, David Fillingim, 5 nephews and 3 nieces.

The siblings are planning a celebration of Russell's life on April 28, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 at Little Mulberry Park- 3800 Hog Mountain Road, Dacula, Ga 30019. Please join us in sharing your favorite memories.
