William Aston

WILLIAM THOMPSON ASTON, better known as Tom:

Tom died at age 76 in Dunwoody on March 22, 2019 at his home at Summer's Landing Assisted Living Facility. He passed away from natural causes.

Tom was born on December 22, 1942 in Birmingham, AL to mother Roberta Bruce (Anderson) Aston and father William Radford Aston. His brother Dale Aston was born a few years later. Tom graduated from Auburn University in 1967 with a degree in engineering. He married Patsy Annette Couch and they had three children, Victoria Lynn in March 1965, Christopher Todd in May of 1970 (he died as an infant) and Erika Danielle born in April 1973. Tom worked as an engineer most of his career, becoming an inventor later in life. He developed an antimicrobial filtration system which he patented. Tom had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He also loved fast cars and being with friends. He was known as a kind and gentle man by everyone he met.

He is survived by his two daughters, two sons-in-law and one grandson, Maxwell William Lang, born in 2006 to his eldest daughter Victoria Lang and her husband Mike Lang who live in Cumming, GA. His youngest daughter, Erika Santee, lives in Winder, GA with her husband Shane Santee.
