After graduating, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served with honor in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. Wayne was a true patriot. After his military service ended, he began a career in mortgage banking.

Those who knew Wayne will remember his love of reading; he had a special fondness for history and was rarely seen without a book nearby on the topic. Wayne had an insatiable love of learning.

Wayne’s passion for the outdoors was equally as strong. An avid hunter, Wayne cherished the time he spent in nature and delighted in sharing his skills and knowledge with his children and grandchildren. Some of his most treasured memories were made on hunting trips to Alaska, Montana and Colorado where he found deep joy, peace, and connection.

Wayne lived a life full of passion, purpose, and quiet strength. His legacy will live on in the stories he shared and the lessons he taught. His memories will remain a guiding light for all who loved him.
