Walter Simmons

Walter Frank Simmons, aged 76, passed away on November 5, 2024. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Walt was known for his quiet strength and resolute spirit. He served commendably in the US Navy from 1968 to 1975, a period during which he demonstrated his dedication and resilience.

Walt graduated from Eastlake North High School and attended Cleveland State University. Throughout his life, he was a pillar of support and a source of wisdom for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Joan) Strnisa; his brother, Robert Simmons; his daughter, Sarah (Antonio) Reza; his son, Steven (Jamie) Simmons; and five grandchildren: Analhi, Megan, Andrew, Rebecca and Mia. He also leaves behind many friends who cherished his companionship. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rose Marie Simmons.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit on Saturday 11/16 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in memory of Walt Simmons.

His legacy of love and courage will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing him.
