Veronique Coker

–

Hoschton, Georgia

Véronique Delahayes Coker, age 68, of Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at a hospice facility surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with endometrial cancer and complications from lymphoblastic leukemia.

Véronique was born on December 19, 1957, in Normandy, France, to Jean and Renée Delahayes. She spent her early childhood in France before moving to the United States with her family at age 13. After living in Ohio for several years, her family settled in Augusta, Georgia, where she attended Augusta University as a first-year student and met the love of her life, Carl Ernest Coker. Véronique and Carl married in France in September 1976 and shared nearly 50 years of marriage before Carl’s passing. Together, Véronique and Carl built a beautiful life in the Greater Atlanta area, spending many cherished years in Norcross and later Johns Creek, living vibrantly. In 1993, Véronique proudly became a naturalized United States citizen, an accomplishment that reflected both her French heritage and the life she wholeheartedly embraced in America.

For many years, Véronique was a top producer in local advertising sales, working closely with small businesses throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Later, she devoted herself fully to her family and home, becoming a loving homemaker and a steady source of support for her husband, Carl, and their son, Eric. She also enjoyed traveling, having visited much of Europe and many places across the United States. Véronique will be remembered for her elegance, warmth, generosity, her refined spirit, and how she encouraged others. Also, she always knew how to make family gatherings memorable.

Above all, Véronique loved her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Ernest Coker, and is survived by her son, Eric Coker; daughter-in-law, Maegan; granddaughters, Danielle and Katherine; parents, Jean and Renée Delahayes; as well as cousins, extended family, and many beloved relatives and friends in Georgia, Texas, and France. Véronique was of the Christian faith, and her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now with the Lord and reunited with her beloved Carl. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4, NKJV

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Northside Hospital, who provided excellent and compassionate care throughout Véronique’s difficult illness.

A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Véronique’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the Northside Hospital Foundation.
