In Loving Memory of Michael Todd Hortman Jr.
February 20, 1968 – January 11, 2025
It is with immense sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Todd Hortman Jr., a devoted father, cherished friend, and respected chiropractor, on January 11, 2025, at the age of 56. Known for his kind spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering dedication to others, Todd’s absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew him.
As a pillar of his community, Dr. Todd built a thriving practice, where he was more than just a healthcare provider, he was a trusted confidant and friend. His work was his passion, and he found joy in improving the lives of his patients, always offering a listening ear, a warm smile, and a helping hand. For him, every patient was family, and his care extended far beyond his office walls.
Beyond his professional achievements, Todd’s love for life was evident in everything he did. An avid Buffalo Bills, Sabres and Purdue Boilermakers fan, his unwavering loyalty to his teams was matched only by his infectious enthusiasm for game days, which he loved sharing with friends and family. His love for his teams reflected his steadfast nature: loyal, hopeful, and full of heart.
Todd’s warmth, generosity, and laughter were felt by all who crossed his path. He was the embodiment of selflessness, always putting others first and spreading positivity across the lake or wherever he went. His golden heart and optimistic outlook made him a beacon of light for everyone around him.
He is survived by his beloved children, Emma and Ethan, who carry forward his enduring legacy of kindness and resilience. Todd is also lovingly remembered by his mother Mary Jo (Starck) Galus and her husband Mike, his sister Missy and her husband John, his brother Peter and sister-in-law Dr. Jody, his partner Laura and her daughter Millie, nephew Andrew and nieces Evie, Gracie and Sophie. His extended work family at CTC, friends, colleagues, and countless patients also mourn the loss of an extraordinary man who touched their lives profoundly.
Todd’s passing leaves a void that words cannot fill, but his memory will live on through the love, compassion, and generosity he shared with the world. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Rest in peace, Todd. Give Dad a hug for us.
