Thomas Vernon Tomerlin, Jr.

Mr. Thomas Vernon Tomerlin, Jr., age 72 of Ball Ground, Ga. passed away on Monday January 1, 2018. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee on November 16, 1945. He was a dedicated educator continuing a long family tradition of educating 5th graders in both Mississippi and Alabama. He was also an entrepreneur with starting and operating Purr-Fect-For-Kids! book store. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and granddaddy. He is survived by a loving wife Virginia Tomerlin, daughter, Judi Johnston, son, Thomas Tomerlin III, sister, Vickie Matthews and husband Bill, grandchildren, Sarah and Zach Johnston, several nieces and nephews. Service was be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home, Cumming, Ga. Burial will be immediately following the service at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming, Ga. Rev. Gabriella Cahaley will officiate.
