Our beloved father, brother and friend Thomas Glenn Carruth, 80, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away peacefully after a long and well lived life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Tom fought a courageous battle with illness that he was not able to overcome with the near constant companionship of family and friends. Tom was born April 16, 1941 and was predeceased by his father Jarnett Carruth (1897-1997) and his mother Martha Evelyn Carruth (1911-2005). Tom grew up in rural Alpharetta, Georgia fishing and roaming the foothills. He had an appreciation for nature and loved animals.
Tom spent his professional life serving in law enforcement. During the cold war period of the late 1950s to early 1960s, Tom was a Military Police Officer stationed in Germany with the Air Force for several years. Once he returned home, he joined the Georgia State Patrol. He moved on to work with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and then as a Federal Marshall. He continually worked on a long-term basis as a staff security professional with Lockheed Martin at the Marietta, Georgia facility.
Tom will be remembered as a quiet, wise and loyal man of honor. A gentile and protective father. His creed was "Endeavor to Persevere". He was a good friend and remained close to many friends from Milton High School, class of 1959.
Tom was blessed in his life by being married for several years to Pamla LaMonthe Carruth, and later for several years to Cheryl Denese Carruth.
Tom is survived by his sister, Anne Mason, brother, Robert Carruth, Tom's daughters, Nicole Hodge, Stacy Cuellar Tamela Cole, grand-daughter, Evelyn Carruth, great grand-daughter, Clara Carruth, and many loving friends and family.
