Terry Calvin Whitworth

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Terry Calvin Whitworth, a beloved and faithful servant of God, on November 26th, 2024. Born on November 19th, 1936, in Barnesville, Georgia, Terry was the embodiment of a dedicated Christian, always sharing his faith through his witty humor, thoughtful actions, and generous spirit.

Terry spent his career in the management of General Motors, where his dedication and hard work were evident. Retiring allowed Terry to spend more time pursuing his passions. An avid fisher and gardener, he found joy in the simplicity and beauty of God's creations. His love for singing was often heard within the walls of his church, where he shared his faith through hymns and songs. Terry's love for traveling took him across the United States, discovering new places and making memories with his loved ones. However, nothing mattered more to Terry than his family, with his love for his grandchildren shining the brightest.

Terry leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lee Whitworth; his daughter, Donna Smith and her husband Robert; his step-sons, Russ and Don Hosea and their wives Lori and Jennifer; his son Chris Whitworth; his grandchildren, Grayson Smith, Jackson Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Rachael Bearden, Parker Whitworth, Jessica Cochran, Kyle Hosea, and Evan Hosea; and his great-grandson, Kyler Cochran. Terry is preceded in death by his father, Joe Whitworth, his mother, Myrtice Whitworth, his son, Joseph Whitworth, and his brother, Larry Whitworth.

The book of Proverbs 22:6 tells us, "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." Terry lived this verse, guiding and loving his family in the path of Christ. His dedication to his faith and family was a testament to his character and will be remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, 30th Nov 2024 at 4:00pmEST at McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, Georgia, 30040. A service celebrating Terry's life will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 5640 Oak Grove Circle, Cumming, Georgia, 30028 on Sunday, 01 Dec 2024 at 2:00pmEST.
