Royal Taft Lindberg

–

Cumming, Georgia

On May 2, 2018, our sweet Royal Taft Lindberg graduated from this mortal life to return to the arms of the Savior and his loved ones that have gone before him. Named after his great, great grandfather, Royal Fox Nielson, he continued a legacy of virtue and purity. Taft was born on October 26, 2016 to Geoffrey and Carrie Lindberg and siblings, Ava and Talmage Lindberg. Shortly after he began his sojourn on this earth, Taft was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, Adenylosuccinate Lyase Deficiency (ADSL). Because of this disorder, we learned that he would live a life of many challenges, limitations and struggles.

We did not want Taft's condition to hinder his quality of life or the relationships that we would have with him. We quickly embraced our world around him as we included him in every part of our lives, no matter how inconvenient it might have seemed. During his time on earth, he traveled across the United States, went on hiking adventures, journeyed to the Nation's Capital, enjoyed family time at the lake and days at the parks, as well as joined his siblings in their school activities. He was an intricate part of every activity and adventure in which his family participated. In addition, we noticed that he had an affinity for the outdoors as it had a calming effect on him. Taft found great joy in hearing the echoes of his siblings' voices and feeling the power of their interaction and touch. Most of his days were spent held in the arms of his family members as he was unable to talk, eat orally or even hold up his head.

Much of Taft's life was spent in distress and full of pain; yet through his trials, he became a light to all that knew of him. The impact and influence of Taft's life has been felt across the world and brought many people closer to the Savior through prayer and actions of faith. His giant spirit was felt by all who were blessed to be in his presence. Those who had the opportunity to know him have been changed eternally because of the way he gracefully endured great difficulties in this life.

He was a gift and a blessing to our family. We feel honored to have been a part of his mortal life and are reverenced by the magnitude of his mission on this earth. He is a valiant spirit of our Father in Heaven and has proven himself worthy to return to His presence. Though we mourn the loss of Royal Taft, we rejoice in the knowledge that he is free from the pain and challenges of this world. We feel peace in the knowledge and hope of a resurrection through the Savior, Jesus Christ, and look forward to the day that we will see him again in perfection and glory. Tafty, we love you to eternity and back!

Royal Taft is survived by his father, Geoffrey R Lindberg; his mother, Carrie C Lindberg; his sister Ava H Lindberg; and his brother G Talmage Lindberg. He is also survived by loving grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.
