Susan (Sue) Mashburn

–

Cumming, Georgia

Susan (Sue) Mashburn was a beacon of joy that will shine forever in our hearts. She passed away on March 22nd, 2023, surrounded by her beautiful children and loving husband.

She was a pillar in Forsyth County. Sue dedicated her entire working life to the students of this community. She was a retired elementary school teacher, working at Midway, Cumming, and Kelly Mill Elementary schools. After the bell rang at the end of each school day, Sue also served as the color guard instructor at Forsyth Central High School with the Flash Of Crimson band for many of those years.

There were so many things Sue enjoyed in life. She was an avid action movie fan. She had a thirst for adventure, chasing every waterfall she'd come across. But, it was her passion for education and her love of reading that she shared with everyone she came into contact with -- including her two grandchildren.

These words cannot possibly sum up the life of such a beautiful person, but it is a glimpse into the impression she left on all of our lives. Sue is survived by her husband John, her brothers Rick and Paul, her daughters Tonya and Kayla, and her grandsons, Mason and Asher -- who affectionately called her Lolli.

May her gentle soul remind us to hold our loved ones tighter, and her unforgettable smile inspire us to share moments of joy and laughter with each other. After all, she'd be the first to remind us that you can't spell "Lolli" without LOL.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 30th, 4-7 PM, at the Aberdeen Subdivision Clubhouse. 4550 Westminster Lane Suwanee, GA 30024

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the educational fund for Sue's grandchildren. https://gofund.me/0ca7cbef
