With grateful hearts for a life well lived, we celebrate the home going of Silvy Everett Kirby. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Silvy passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on March 10, 1942, and lived a life centered around his faith, his family, and the simple joys of the outdoors.
Silvy loved spending time outside, especially hunting, fishing, and farming. These were more than hobbies to him—they were a way of life and a source of countless memories shared with the people he loved. Above all else, his family was his everything. He treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Silvy was known for his kind and giving heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and genuinely loved helping anyone he came in contact with. Whether it was a neighbor, a friend, or a stranger in need, Silvy was the kind of person who would do whatever he could to help. His generosity, kindness, and willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Silvy was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church and a faithful servant of the Lord. His faith was an important part of his life, and he sought to live that faith through the way he loved and served others. His family finds comfort knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
Silvy was preceded in death by his parents, Auton D. Kirby and Ruth Elsie Estes; his wife, Hazel Gladys Kirby; his son, Scott Everett Kirby; and his siblings, Donald Kirby and Sandra Carter.
He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory in their hearts: his son, Mark (Clarcy) Kirby; daughter-in-law, Teresa Dixon (Scott Kirby, deceased); grandchildren, Jonathan (Erin) Kirby, Crysta (Robert) Eldridge, Katherine (Justin) James, Hanna (Chris) Sloyer, and Alice (Stetson) Williams; 10 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Delbert (Debbie) Kirby, Sam (Sarah) Kirby, and Dorris (Steve) Wagner.
Though his passing leaves a great emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, his family will forever cherish the lessons he taught them, the memories he created, and the love he so freely gave. His legacy will live on through the generations of family he loved so dearly.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
Silvy will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
