Shirley Ann Waite

Shirley Ann Waite, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on December 28, 2022.

She was born January 10, 1937, to the late Howard and Esther Linch.

She lived a very full life. She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Worked at Eastern Airlines before meeting the love of her life, Charles Franklin Waite Sr. They married a short time later and she went with him to Germany where he was stationed. After returning to the states, she touched the lives of many but especially the young. She was a loving mother to three children.She worked as a teacher at Wieuca Road Baptist Church, taught Sunday school for many years, and then went on to work at Esther Jackson Elementary as a teacher's assistant , where she retired from. She was also active in the Northside Youth Organization alongside her husband and served as team mother for her son's football team for several years. She will be remembered as a loving wife to her late husband, Charles Waite Sr., a loving mother to her children, and a grandmother to her grands and greats.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Charles (Yi Xie) Waite Jr., David (Amy) Waite, and Paige (Al) DeThomas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael, Carmen, Chances (Nate), Avalon, Charlie (Lailee), Peter (Lucy) Sibo (Yuan), and Andrew. In addition to her grandchildren, she is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA, on January 6, 2023, at 10:00AM, where both Shirley and her husband will be laid to rest.
