Shirley Sellers

Shirley Carol Sellers, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026 at the age of 77.

Shirley was born on October 9, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland. She grew up in Florida and moved to Georgia at the age of 18 where she made her home. She eventually settled in Canton, Georgia where she was surrounded by the family and friends she loved dearly.

Shirley lived a life filled with adventure. For many years, she and her late husband, affectionately known as “Scooter,” owned and operated Undersea Adventures, a dive shop that allowed them to share their love of diving and travel with others. Together they took students on diving adventures around the world creating wonderful memories and lifelong friendships along the way. Shirley treasured the many special people she met through those journeys and the stories and experiences they shared.

Shirley is survived by her son, Brian Hammond and his wife, Andrea; her grandson, Ryan Hammond; her siblings, Beverly Bailey, Allen Shaffer and his wife, Ceila, and Wayne Shaffer and his wife, Joy; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many cherished friends and loved ones who will remember her adventurous spirit, her generous heart, and the joy she brought into their lives.

Shirley’s life was one of family, friendship, adventure, and love. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and will remain forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
