Shirley Martin

On January 10, 2024, Shirley Martin passed away after a long fight with dementia. She was 85 years old. A lifelong Georgia native, Shirley was well-loved by so many. Shirley was the proud and loving mother of three children. She was a woman who loved life, her family, her friends and Jesus.

Shirley is preceded by her husband Rema Martin, grandson Christopher Boddie and brother Charles Alford.

Shirley leaves behind her children Wayne (Terri) Boddie, Lisa (Marvin) Mihalak and Elaine (Skip) Boddie. Her siblings Bob Alford, Brenda Osborne and Rose Adams. Her grandchildren Matt (Samantha) Mihalak, Melissa (Cody) Hagler, Keith (Rheannon) Boddie, Lindsey (Michael) Holbrook, Olivia and Avery VanAntwerp. Her great grandchildren Jackson, Hudson, Sadie, Harley, Haddie, Andrew, Payton and Millie. She also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers Shirley has asked for a donation to either the First Redeemer Church in Cumming, Ga or to a breast cancer research organization of your choice.

Visitation will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, with a celebration of Shirley's life to follow at 1:00pm in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
