Shirley Ellen Coppola, 56, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, August 1st, 2016. Born November 16, 1959, she was the daughter of the late James Ronald Handyside and Florence Isabell Handyside.

She was a loving wife, mother, friend, and was loved by all she met. Known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, she possessed a contagious smile and was the light that brightened many dark days. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and down to earth demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

Shirley was only 56 when she passed away unexpectedly. Although she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love and perseverance. The ways she touched all of our lives will remain.

This family, and her role as a loving wife and mother, was the most important thing to Mom. This is where she drew her strength and left her legacy. Being with her family was what she enjoyed most of all. Life presented her with many obstacles, yet through it all, her love and caring for her family remained her focus and in so many ways she was able to show that love to us. This perseverance through adversity if a powerful lesson for us all. Keep your priorities straight - love and care for your family, while you still have them. Cherish those moments and let them know that you love them, but most of all do not let adversities or setbacks or any of the other distractions of the world keep you from enjoying the best gift anyone could ask for; a loving mother and a loving family.

A visitation will be held Thursday, August 4th, 2016 between 1:00PM and 4:00PM at McDonald & Son Funeral Home located at 150 Sawnee Drive Cumming, GA.

Rest in peace to our Angel that lived, laughed, and loved and was taken too soon.
