Dawsonville, Georgia
We honor the life of Sheila Sue Buice, a beacon of compassion and love, who was born on November 27, 1954, in Atlanta, GA, and resided in Dawsonville, Georgia. As a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her legacy of love and care will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.
Sheila was a devoted paraprofessional at Big Creek Elementary, Forsyth County School System, from where she retired. Her enduring dedication to education and nurturing the minds of the younger generation was evident in her daily interactions with her students and colleagues. In her work, she exemplified the words of Helen Keller: "True happiness... is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose." Sheila found her worthy purpose in her career, her family, and every life she touched.
She leaves behind a beautiful family, a testament to her loving nature. Sheila is survived by her mother, Patricia Hudgins; her husband, Russell Buice; her children, Jason Buice, Zachary Buice, and Jennifer Nelson; her son-in-law, Anthony Nelson; her brother, Andy Hudgins; her grandchildren, Micha Buice, Chloe Buice, Ava Buice, Daniel Nelson, Sarah Nelson, and Anna Nelson; and her great-grandchildren, Lakeland Stowers, Colton Nelson, and Carter Nelson. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Hudgins, and sister, Renee Rumph, brother, Sam Hudgins.
