Sheila Bailey Staggs

Sheila Bailey Staggs, 72, of Norcross, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23rd at Northside Hospital in Atlanta after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her family and friends until the very end. Her loss is completely unexpected and her family is profoundly saddened.

Sheila was born on April 26th, 1951 to Grace Maurice Stringer and William Herschel Fortenberry in Cullman, Alabama. Bibb Bailey adopted her at an early age and gave her his last name and raised her as his own.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bibb and Maurice Bailey, her brother Rickey Bailey and sister Geraldine Bailey Timbs all of Cullman, Alabama.

She is survived by her only child, Tina Vaughn Amodeo( Jim) of Ball Ground, GA and two grandchildren-Drew Vaughn of McDonough, GA and Savannah Vaughn of Jackson, GA. Bernard Glen Staggs was with her for many years and deeply loved her. She adored her animals and leaves behind two precious pups- Ashley and Brody. She also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and one niece Jennifer Timbs of Cullman.

Sheila had a long and successful career where she was well respected by her co-workers and customers, many of which became close friends.

She was loved by so many and we will all miss her more than words can express. She truly was a special lady and the best mother a daughter could ask for.

Visitation on Saturday, March 2nd from 12-2pm and Funeral to follow at 2pm in the Chapel.

There will be another Celebration of Life in Cullman, Alabama to be held at a later date.
