Sharon Ann Fowler, born Sharon Ann Shuart and formerly Sharon Ann Irish passed away quietly in her home on the Chattahoochee River, surrounded by her children, of congestive heart failure on July 29, 2022 at the age of 86 years and 7 months. Sharon was born in Salem, Michigan to Doris Wood and Rex Shuart. She attended Hartland High School in Michigan, class of 1954, where she attained Salutatorian status.
Sharon was a dedicated Post Office employee for 30 years as a rural mail carrier in Michigan. She married Richard Lee Irish on October 16, 1954. She is survived by her son: Kevin Lee Irish of Howell, MI; daughter: Rachelle McKay Irish of Burton, MI; son: Lee Eric Irish of South Hamilton, MA; 6 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her elder brother: Gerald Leon Shuart of Grand Rapids, MI and younger sister Laurel Joy Glover of Fenton, MI.
Sharon's talents were many. In addition to being a loving, caring and accepting mother and grandmother, she was a Master Gardener, accomplished award-winning artist and a beloved and trusted friend to many community neighbors. An extremely self-sufficient, determined woman, she was an expert horse rider and roper, hunter, garden vegetable canner, bread baker, teacher and mentor to many.
Sharon had a dedicated passion being a breeder of champion Labrador Retrievers, of which many would become faithful family companions. She actively participated in donating dogs to Leader Dogs for the Blind and the Michigan State Police canine unit.
All who knew Sharon loved her: a beautiful lady of faith, poise, strength and character. Her legacy will live with her family and friends forever in our hearts.
