Sarah White Cunningham

Sarah White Cunningham was born on November 25, 1929, and went to be with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 28, 2024. She was 95 years old when she passed. Sarah was a devoted Christian for her entire life. She spent many years studying and teaching the Bible and witnessing to literally anyone she met. The last six years she lived in Cumming, Georgia at an assisted living facility where she continued to share her faith. She was an amazing testimony for Jesus.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents Clayton and Gladys White, her sister Louise (Ted) Barrow all of Macon, GA and her ex-husband and friend Howard Cunningham of Cumming, GA. Sarah leaves behind her daughter, Linda (Steve) Cox and son, Wyatt (Nancy) Cunningham of Gainesville, GA, as well as four grandchildren: Wyatt Cunningham III, Michael Cunningham, Natalie (Jason) Hales and Travis (Stephanie) Cox who all reside in metro Atlanta. She had four great grandchildren: Rowen and Maris Hales, Nora and Caleb Cox. On her birthday in November, she had fun celebrating with them playing air hockey and balloon toss. Special family members include niece Jan Barrow Shaw (David) and Jim (Donna) Barrow along with great nieces and nephews who loved her.

Sarah graduated from Miller High School in Macon in 1947. She then attended Macon Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1950. In 1968 she moved to Tucker, GA. She continued her nursing career, retiring from Emory Hospital Clinic in 1994.

Sarah was a friendly outgoing person who loved adventure and traveling and was always up for something new. She played on hospital softball teams, loved ping pong, games and playing piano. She was often the leader in a group and a teacher in her church. She was a long-time member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and then later Hebron Baptist Church. She was a great friend to many and prayed for their needs and checked on them regularly.

If you were blessed enough to be a family member, a friend or neighbor you know what an amazing woman she was. She loved to laugh, tease and always was smiling. She will be forever missed by her family but never forgotten.

Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 3pm at The Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Georgia.
