Sally Merck

Sally Rabun Merck, born July 24, 1933, in Macon, Georgia passed away on January 03, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Charles Luther Rabun and Sallie Lou Rabun, both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her devoted husband Erwin Merck Jr and two sons Bryan Merck and Robert Merck and grandson Dylan Merck. She is survived by her son James Merck. She is also survived by her daughter in law Patricia Merck, daughter in law Kelley Merck, her five grandchildren - Sarah (Peter), Caroline (John), Daniel (Suzzy), Tyler (Gabby) and Seth as well as her five great grandchildren - Ellis, Margot, August, Elliot and Reece. Her sixth great grandchild, baby John, is on the way. Sally was a proud graduate of Brenau University in 1955 where she majored in Home Economics. Sally was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was always very important to her and her love for her husband, children and other family members was highly evident. She always gave of herself on behalf of everyone else. She was very devout in her Christian faith and was a member of Cumming First United Methodist Church. Sally was a passionate artist and her paintings, drawings, quilts and crafts are cherished. One of her favorite involvements was the annual Christmas Bazaar, at the church, where her crafts would be sold to fund various church needs. Sally was a gentle soul who leaves a legacy of love to all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Cumming First United Methodist Church. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 and visitation will begin at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Cumming First United Methodist Church.
