Rudolph Duane Lindeland

–

Cumming, Georgia

Rudolph (Rudy) Duane Lindeland passed away on March 31, 2021 from Parkinson's Disease. He was born to Oscar and Carine (Rud) Lindeland in Taopi, Minn. on June 19, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Frances St. Cyr, and his young brother Clarence Lindeland. He left behind his beloved and loving Wife, Carol Lindeland, Daughter, Shannon Marks, son-in-law Paul Marks, and three grandchildren; Branson, Annsley and Paul Jr., and his sister's five children and their families.

His remains will be inurned at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on April 14, 2021. A Celebration of Life service/gathering will be held sometime in June near Rudy's birthday and Father's Day. We hope his many friends will join in this celebration.

Rudy was a successful business owner, a long-distance cyclist and a champion bowler. Rudy was an especially loving Son, Father, Grandad, Uncle and Husband. He loved Shannon so dearly and enjoyed being at her athletic and other events; where she proudly introduced him to all her friends as "My Dad". Shannon shares her love with her students as a teacher at North High School in Cumming. Rudy loved his son-in-law, Paul Marks, who is a successful local business owner and is wonderful husband and father, too. Shannon and Paul blessed all of us with three amazing grandchildren. Branson, a graduate of the Georgia Southern Engineering Program is now a local business owner in the Cumming area. Annsley graduated from the North Georgia Nursing program and now works as a nurse in our local hospital's emergency room. Paul Jr. is in his second year at North Georgia and is a competitive fisherman, like his dad. Even while Rudy was less able to go to their events Rudy was always asking about their many achievements and activities.

He was a true family man taking care of his mom in his home and being a fatherly uncle to his sister's children. He happily joined Carol's family gatherings loving her parents as his own. He was a member of Cumming First United Methodist Church and the Circle of Friends Sunday School class, where he had many loving friends. His most cherished times were those spent around the table having supper with Shannon's big, loving family.

Rudy will be celebrated by his family on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Cumming First United Methodist Church. The family will be at the church from 12 noon to 1:00 pm to greet friends.
