Roy Eugene Rider, 69 of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010 at his residence. Roy was born in Dahlonega, GA. He was employed by the Lumpkin County School System. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mildred Rider of Dahlonega, GA; children, Kendal Rider of Dahlonega, GA, Billy Rider and Cheryl Jefferys of Dahlonega, GA, Alan and Kathy Rider of Dahlonega, GA, Sherry and John Bozza of Brunswick, GA, Donna Rider Franklin of Baldwin, GA; sisters Fannie Gaddis of Dahlonega, GA, Maryfaye Edmondson of Dahlonega, GA, Mamie Reid of Stone Mtn., GA; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dahlonega Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Dahlonega, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 30, 2010 and Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. both days at the funeral home.
