Rose Marie Fitzpatrick, 79, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026.
Born on April 18, 1947, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to John David Niesner and Adele Grace Irwin Niesner, Rose graduated from Johnstown High School and began working at Bethlehem Steel, where she met the love of her life, Richard A. Fitzpatrick.
Rose and Richard shared 59 wonderful years of marriage after exchanging vows on June 15, 1968. In 1988, they settled in Jacksonville, Florida, where Rose built a successful career with Florida Blue. A dedicated and highly respected employee, she faithfully served the company for many years before retiring in 2010.
Rose found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending her garden, nurturing flowers and plants with the same care she gave to those around her. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she delighted in cooking for family and friends. She was especially known for baking an assortment of homemade Christmas cookies each holiday season to share with loved ones. She never passed up the opportunity to explore garage and estate sales, always hoping to uncover a unique treasure. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories through shared meals, laughter, and love. Her kindness, generosity, and warm spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard A. Fitzpatrick; her devoted daughters, Tammy L. Tilley (Lewis), Michele M. Fitzpatrick, and Shannon L. Fitzpatrick; her cherished grandson, Nolan J. Tilley; and her beloved sister, Janice C. Reeping (Ted). She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
