Roman C. Avila

Roman C. Avila, 84, of Cumming, GA died on January 28, 2011 at Embracing Hospice House. Born in Barugo, Leyte, Philippines he was the son of the late Juan and Maxima Avila. His father-in-law Roberto Busante and mother-in-law Damasa Busante; his children, Lina Avila, Felizardo Avila and Lorna Avila Tiu; grandson Irjie Avila Tiu; and brothers-in-law, Robert Muhr, Victorio Pigao, Jose Laure, Nestorio Busante, Jose Bello and Pio Pitalbo; nieces, Elsie Avila and Leonora Avila; nephew, Rene Avila; and cousin Crescencia Bunales also predeceased him He served three years in the US Army during World War II in Okinawa, Japan. In the Philippines he was a tailor and watch repairman. Survivors include his beloved wife, Eustaquia Avila of Cumming, GA; children, Virgie (Todd) Whited of Cumming, GA, Evelyn (Edgar) Panis of Jala-Jala, Rizal, Philippines, Lilibeth Avila of Jala-Jala, Rizal, Philippines, Marica (Ronaldo) Villeno of Daet, Camarenes Norte, Philippines, Alma Avila of Barugo, Leyte, Philippines, Edna (Aurito) Aron of Jala-Jala, Rizal, Philippines, Evamie (Jeff) Myers of Bloomingdale, IL, Cathline(Ruben) Gutang of Jala-Jala, Rizal, Philippines, Elmer (Cecille) Avila of Cebu City, Philippines, Antonio (Mareta) Avila of Barugo, Leyte, Philippines, Roman (Jenny Quitoy) Avila, Jr. of Jala-Jala, Rizal, Philippines, Ranil Avila of Wood Dale, IL; siblings, Marcelo (Caridad) Avila of Barugo, Leyte, Philippines, Natividad Pigao of Scarborough ON, Rosario Laure of Wood Dale, IL, Matilde (Delvin) Hallowell of Silver City, NM, Maria Avila of Wood Dale, IL, Maxima Avila of Chicago, IL, Damiana Avila of Naperville, IL; Sister-in-laws, Manuela (Ernesto) Poloyapoy of Novaliches, Quezon City, Philippines, Aurora Pitalbo of Barugo, Leyte, Philippines and Leticia Villero of Samar, Philippines; 32 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held at 5:30 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Father Chito Palang will officiate. Funeral services will also be held in the Philippines at a later date. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 5 from 4:00 5:30 pm at the funeral home.
