Robert J. Caulfield, 97, passed away peacefully today at Antebellum James Burgess in Suwanee, Georgia, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Bob (as he was known by family and friends) was a proud graduate of West Catholic High School and went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He built a long and successful career as a financial advisor, working for several brokerage firms throughout his career before retiring from Janney Montgomery Scott in Philadelphia.
Bob and his family made their home in Carroll Park, Pennsylvania, and he especially enjoyed the family’s home in Ocean City, New Jersey. But wherever he lived, his greatest joy was always his family.
Bob was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Dolores, and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man who always put his family first. His Catholic faith was an important part of his life, and he faithfully attended church each week at Presentation BVM in Pennsylvania and Our Lady of Good Counsel in Ocean City, New Jersey.
He will be remembered not only for his devotion to his family, but also for his warmth, his positive spirit, and the simple pleasures he enjoyed—especially milkshakes and peanut M&Ms.
Bob is survived by his children: Robert J. Caulfield Jr. and his wife, Marianne Caulfield; Thomas A. Caulfield and his wife, Karen Caulfield; Suzanne M. Granger and her husband, Murray Granger; and Timothy P. Caulfield.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tommy J. Caulfield and his wife, Kimi Caulfield; Matthew P. Caulfield; John T. Caulfield; Conor Granger; Colin Granger; and Carly Granger; and his great-grandchildren, Cove Caulfield and Stevie Caulfield.
Bob leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever be grateful for his love, guidance, devotion, and example.
He lived 97 years with faith, love, and an unwavering commitment to the people who mattered most to him. His family was his greatest accomplishment, and his love will remain with them always.
May he rest peacefully in the loving arms of God.
