Robert Douglas Baskin

Robert Douglas Baskin, 60, of Cumming, GA, passed away August 17, 2011, at his home. He was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas and was preceded by his mother, Pat Baskin in 2007. Mr. Baskin was Director of Business Development, working with American Proteins, Inc. for the past 8 years. He relocated to Cumming, GA from Hanceville, AL, seven years ago. He was a member of a Browns Bridge Community Church, and served five years on the Board of Trustees for The Place. Prior to relocating to Hanceville, AL, Doug held several roles with Tyson Foods over a 23 year span with the last being Director of Tyson Foods Animal Foods Ingredients Group before taking a brief retirement. Doug was a.former member at First Baptist Church in Springdale, AR, and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, razorback sports, and reading. He also loved sharing from the Bible and teaching his small group. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Lawson Baskin of Cumming, GA; father, Bob Baskin of Fayetteville, AR; son, Jason Baskin and wife Jama of Edmond, OK; daughter, Holly and husband Mike Shelton of Richardson, TX; brother, Steve Baskin of Fayetteville, AR; grandchildren, Reagan and Avery Baskin of Edmond, OK, and Ellie, Anna, and Mary Caroline Shelton of Richardson, TX. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 11:00 AM in Browns Bridge Community Church. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2011 at McDonald & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Shelton, Bob Smith, and Rollie Bevers will officiate.
