Robert and Ann Salo

Robert Wayne Salo of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on November 25, 2022 at 88

years of age. Robert was born April 14, 1934, to the late Ilmari and Muriel Salo in

Fitchburg, Massachusetts. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his

wife of 63 years Ann Phinney Salo (July 27, 2022). Ann was born on February 13, 1938

to the late Raymond and Bertha Phinney also in Fitchburg.

Robert and Ann are survived by their children Kevin Salo, Kimberly Salo, and Keith

(Lori) Salo. They are also survived by six grandchildren: Dana, Devin, Joshua,

Johnathan, Jacob, and Victoria as well as two great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Nolan.

Before settling in Cumming, Robert and Ann resided in several locations while Robert

was an engineer with Foster Grant. They both would speak often of the beautiful

mountains of Blacksburg, Virginia where they lived prior to moving to Georgia. Robert

was a proud military veteran serving in the Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and

was very talented craftsman as shown in his handmade wicker baskets. Ann was a

teacher and enjoyed gardening and playing bridge with her friends and neighbors. They

were devoted parents, grandparents and great grandparents who enjoyed attending

their grandchildren's sporting events.

A small service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery on December 20, 2022.
