Richard Calvert Haskins Jr.

Richard C. Haskins Jr passed away on June 21, 2023 from a sudden bout of a rare form of cancer.

He was born on February 23, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to Richard and Wilma Haskins. He met the love of his life during his senior year of high school and they married on July 26, 1969. Faith was an important part of Rick's life. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1973 and was active in sharing his beliefs with others in the community that he lived in. Rick and Joan started their family in Ohio where Todd, Mark and Cindy were born. In 1996 Rick and Joan relocated to Cumming, GA where he was employed by IBM until he retired. He and Joan enjoyed many traveling adventures together, especially cruising to various locations, but he really enjoyed spending time with his family and dear friends. We will miss his witty comments, warm hugs, and genuine love.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joan M. Haskins, and his children, Todd (Camille), Mark (Audra), Cindy (Ben). Eight grandchildren: Grace, Max, Nathan, Sawyer, Ava, Zachary, Dempsey and Andrew. His siblings Dave (Wilma) and Denny (Kathy), Linda (Jeff) and Harmony (Bruce). Preceded in death, brothers, Bruce and Tim. And finally his loving canine companion Norman, the family boxer, who was always loyally by his side on the couch

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 4:00PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cumming, Georgia.
