Richard Carl Briney

Richard Carl Briney of Suwanee, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 29. He was 83 years old.

His first and primary love was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, followed immediately by his precious wife of 60 years, Sarah "Sally" Jane Briney. Richard spent his 50 working years repairing and installing medical and dental equipment. But, for most of you who knew him well, you knew he couldn't get enough of the outdoors. He spent many hours hunting, fishing, hiking and gardening. Richard served in his church as an elder, but more than that he was a friend and mentor to the young people that spent many hours in the Briney home playing games, attending youth functions, having Halloween parties or just talking about life. His love for the Lord was showered out upon those around him whether they were 2 years old or 82 years old.

Richard is survived by his wife Sarah "Sally" Briney, his daughter Heather Briney Sullivan, his son-in-law W. Todd Sullivan, his grandchildren Jonathan(26), Benjamin(21) and SarahEllen(17), his brother Roger Briney and his sister-in-law Mrs. Ronald Briney. He was preceded in death by his son Travis Dale Briney, his brothers Ralph Briney and Ronald Briney and his sisters Rae Carol Goulette and Rosemary Pillivant.

The memorial service will be Thursday, November 10, at Old Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 1756 Old Peachtree Rd NW, Duluth, GA . Visitation will be 5-6pm and the service will begin at 6pm. He will be interred at the Georgia National Veteran's Cemetery in a private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be given to the benevolence fund at Old Peachtree Presbyterian Church.
