Ralph Allen

Ralph Allen, age 101, a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran of Cumming, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, children and family members. Ralph was born in Cleveland, Georgia on September 22, 1924 to Ollie Allen and Viola Underwood Allen.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Gwen Vandiver Allen, his son Jeffrey Allen, his parents and 9 brothers and sisters. Ralph is survived by his wife Marion Britt Allen of Cumming, his son Van Allen (Susie), Rick Allen (Dede), his daughter Lisa Allen Reuland, granddaughter Jessica Place (Timothy), daughter in law, Judy Allen, brother Billy Allen (Charlene), numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

While attending Cleveland High School, Ralph responded to the call of his country and joined the U.S Army Air Corp. for service during WWII. He served in various locations throughout Europe, completing his services as Sergeant. After returning home he continued his high school education, followed by additional studies at Truett-McConnell College. Ralph’s career led him to auto sales, at which he excelled, because of this ethic of hard work, honesty, showering clients with his winning smile and personality. While in business in Duluth, Ralph dedicated himself to his community. He and his family embraced the Alpharetta Methodist Church in the mid 70’s and he was honored to be its oldest member for the last three years. His love and support of Alpharetta Methodist will be missed.

The family will receive friends at McDonald and Son, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA on Thursday May 14th from 4 to 7pm. The funeral services to celebrate the life of Ralph Allen will be held May 15th at 11:00, at the Alpharetta Methodist Church, 69 N. Main Street, Alpharetta, GA.
