Rachel Brooks

Rachel Marie Brooks (Hicks), age 79, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by family on Monday March 17th, 2025. She was born in Alpharetta Georgia on December 2nd, 1945, to Howard Hicks and Lilly Hicks (Angel).

Rachel lived a beautiful life full of love and faith. She was a mother, foster parent, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to everyone she met. Rachel was a jack-of-all-trades throughout her life but above all was a caregiver who loved her family.

She is survived by her daughters: Karyle Lynn (Travis Lynn Sr.) and Patricia Jones (Michael Jones Sr.), Grandchildren: Michelle Willard (Josh Willard), Amber Morgan (Justin Morgan), Travis Lynn Jr. (Amber Lynn), Amanda Coleman (Sean Coleman), Michael Jones Jr. (Nicole Jones), and Brantley Jones. Great-grandchildren: Robert Lynn Jr., Brianna Lynn, Savannah Minish (Ryan Minish), Carl Willard, Charlotte Willard, Brooke Morgan, Jut Morgan, Kirsten Lynn, Kayleigh Lynn, Leighann Coleman, Harper Coleman, Haleigh Collett and Blakley Jones, great-great grandchild: Paisley Minish and sisters: Patricia Gooch and Charlotte Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her husband Everett Eugene Brooks, daughter Patty Mulligan, son-in-law Randy Mulligan, sisters: Edna, Marty, Gail, Darlene, Marilyn and brothers: Gene, Fred, Johnny, Frankie, and George.

Arrangements have been made through McDonald and Sons Funeral Home in Cumming, Ga. Visitation will be held Saturday March 22nd, 2025, from 11AM to 8PM as well as Sunday March 23rd, 2025, from 11AM to 2PM. Following the visitation on Sunday there will be a service held in the chapel at 2PM.

There will also be a graveside service to follow on Sunday March 23rd, 2025, at Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Alpharetta Ga at 4PM.
