Dr. Philip George Kosky, 83, of Suwanee, Georgia passed away on May 21, 2022

Dr. Philip George Kosky thrived on puns. While others groaned, their reactions only emboldened him. (This is when you roll your eyes; he would appreciate that.)

Philip was born in England to Maurice and Augusta Kosky on March 25, 1939. He married Mary Boeker Kosky on June 20, 1964 in Berkeley, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University College London and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He spent most of his career as a Research Scientist with General Electric Research & Development Center in Schenectady, NY until his retirement in 2001. Retirement did not suit him and he went on to become a Distinguished Research Professor of Engineering with Union College from 2001 to 2007. He and three of his colleagues authored five editions of the college text "Exploring Engineering: An Introduction to Engineering and Design." Dr. Kosky wrote nearly 200 publications and other reports including over 25 patents during his distinguished career.

Philip was predeceased by older brother Tony, survived by his loving wife Mary Boeker Kosky, daughters Deirdre Kosky-Kaupelis and Nicole Dinkla Kosky (spouse Patrick Dinkla,) and his beloved grandchildren: Cole Kaupelis, Luke Dinkla, Case Dinkla, and Cooper Kaupelis.

There will be no immediate service. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer; details to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Philip's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.

Philip's family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Maritu Enyew with Agape Hospice Care of Cumming, Georgia for her extraordinary kindness and compassion for both Philip and his family during his final months.
