Philip John Boldyn

Philip John Boldyn (Phil), passed away at the age of 73 on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Phil was born on October 10, 1946 in Wieden, West Germany to Chester and Stephanie (Kobialka) Boldyn.

He attended Lindbloom High School in Chicago and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1967 during the Vietnam War.

On March 16, 1968 he married Alina Teresa Dobrowolski. Together they raised two children in the Chicagoland area.

Phil was a successful Engineer and Marketing Manager. Much of his career was spent at Union Carbide/Praxair.

In 1997, Phil and Alina moved to Cumming, Georgia where Phil retired and happily lived out the remainder of his days.

Phil was an avid reader and loved all books. He routinely visited the local libraries and bookstores. He was continually challenging himself with new projects around the house and was always eager to help out a neighbor or friend in need.

Phil would want to be remembered as an extremely hard worker who always made time for his wife, kids and grandkids, all of which admired and loved him very much.

Phil is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alina Boldyn as well as his son, Philip Boldyn (Vicki) of Indian Trail, NC; daughter, Amy Hanes (Rob) of Lititz, PA; sister, Theresa Jancura (Ron) of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Chester Boldyn (Karen) of Marysville, WA; sister, Lottie Kozik of Virginia; 6 grandchildren: Ryan Boldyn, Mark Boldyn, Anna Boldyn, Jack Boldyn, Brennan Hanes and Colin Hanes along with 4 nephews Mikhel Boldyn, Joseph Kozik, Richard Kozik and Thomas Kozik.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McDonald and Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA 30040.
