Peter Hugerth

Peter Michael Hugerth, age 83 of Cumming, Georgia, formerly of Pine Bush, New York, passed away
on January 4, 2024.
Born on January 24, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York, Pete lived a happy, memorable life. Pete was
preceded in death by his parents Neil and Charlotte Hugerth, siblings Robert, Jon, and Ann, his
first wife Patricia, their son Michael, and Karla, who widowed Pete. He also has 2 daughters,
Krista Volpe and Erin Hugerth, 6 beloved grandchildren, Angelisa, Logan, Maggie, Genevieve,
Gabriella, and Jacob, many nieces and nephews, and a blended family from his marriage to
Karla.
Pete was a proud veteran who served in the Army, mostly stationed in Korea. He started his
career working as a meter reader in Washington D.C., then moved back to New York State,
where he enjoyed working in utilities.
Pete spent the most memorable years of his life in Pine Bush, New York on his serene farm. You
could find him fishing in his ponds and working in the barn. In his free time, he loved being with
his grandchildren and animals, especially dogs. His hobbies included mowing the lawn,
bird-watching, and hunting squirrels who dared to eat out of the bird feeders. His character and
down-to-earth, warmhearted personality brought happiness to all who knew him.
He spent the last years of his life living with his daughter Krista and her three children in
Cumming, Georgia, where he peacefully passed.
