Peggy Roland

Peggy Marcelle Roland, 78, passed away on December 14th, 2017. She was born July 8th, 1939 to Egbert and Mildred (Hawkins) Byers. She was survived by her beloved younger brother, Clifford (wife Nan, deceased) Byers. They were raised in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Marcelle married Norris Roland on July 1st, 1965. They were happily married 47 years at the time of his passing.

Marcelle was a loving, fiercely protective wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and soon to be great great grandmother.

Her large, boisterous family includes her children, Thad (Suzanne) O'Bryant, Uneida (Jerry) Griffin, Tye O'Bryant, Timothy Roland (deceased), Melissa Hulsey (Mark, deceased), and Peggy Wardrup.

Her many grandchildren are Melissa, Jennifer, Samantha, Tyelor, Carol, Justin, Aron Joseph, Jerry, Michael, Norris, Marcelle, Amanda, and Mark.

Her great grandchildren are Logan, Ryleigh, Haley, Josh, Lexie, Kamden, Kennedy, Kayla Rose, John, Hannah, Elizabeth, Emily, Justin, Cameron, Macy Rae, Aubriana, Anniston, Lincoln, Bentley Isaiah, Cayden, Ian, Cadence, Landon, David, Brayden, Addilyn Grace, and Wyatt.

Arriving any day now is great-great grandchild Johnny.

Visitation will be on Monday, Noon, December 18, 2017, followed by a service at 2:00 pm. It will be held at McDonald and Son Funeral Home, located at 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA, 30040. The officiant will be David Askew.

A wife, a mother, a nanny too, This is the legacy we have from you.

You taught us love and how to fight. You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find. And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another, Not just as a wife, not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best. Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you've earned your sleep. Your love in our hearts, We'll eternally keep.
