Peggy Milam Butler

–

Cumming, Georgia

Peggy Milam Butler, 86, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, November 15, 2018. Peggy lived in Atlanta most of her life and was the definition of a true Southern lady. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart of 65 years, her darling husband, George. They had a beautiful, loving marriage, the kind that is rarely seen these days. While she loved being a wife to George and a mother to her two children, one of her greatest joys in life was being a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She adored each and every member of her family and they adored her.

Peggy and George were longtime members of Cumming United Methodist Church and Peggy was involved in many church activities until she was no longer able to attend. She also helped her son with the bookkeeping for his business up until the day before she died. She was always trying to help others. Peggy was quick to give and slow to judge. Everyone who entered her home immediately felt like part of the family. Peggy was loved by all who knew her and she will be deeply missed. She was truly an inspiration to all and her legacy will continue in the lives she has touched.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Cindy Lamb and husband, Michael; son, Trey Butler and wife, Penny; grandchildren, Devon Lamb, Andrea Leblang and husband, Bryan; Jordan Lamb, and Jacob Butler; great-granddaughter, Delilah Leblang.

A private ceremony celebrating Peggy's life was held by the family on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Chapel by the lake at Bald Ridge Marina.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Peggy, please make a donation to the Abba House, a ministry for women struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. You can donate in memory of Peggy to www.abbahouse.com/donate or send a check to Abba House, Inc., P.O. Box 1480, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
