Patricia Woody

Patricia “Pat” Gwynn Woody, age 87, of Dahlonega, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on June 1, 2025. She was devoted to her family and leaves behind a legacy of love and faith to all who loved her.

She was born on June 9, 1937 in Miami, Florida to Velma and Harry Gwynn. She met her husband of 67 years, C.O., at church and they had a wonderful love story which is evident every day in the lives of her child, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who were the delights of her life.

Pat was a devoted and extraordinary Grandmommy and took her role as a “professional grandmother” very seriously. She believed being a full-time gram was the most important job of all, and the love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no limits. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of the generations she nurtured, inspired, and loved so deeply. To her grandchildren, she wasn’t just a grandmother- she was the biggest cheerleader, the one always with a smile, and the greatest pray warrior. She was a great example of someone who was devoted to her faith in Jesus Christ and spent much of her days lifting her family up in prayer. She was the most amazing Grandmommy.

Awaiting her at Heaven’s gates was the love of her life, C.O., mother, Velma, father, Harry, and a host of other family members and friends.

Pat will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family and loved ones. She leaves behind her daughter and son in-law, Darlene and Jeff Bearinger; Granddaughters Elizabeth (Jay) Davis, Amy (Benjy) Edwards, and Susannah (Grant) Gibson. She will also be missed by her 8 great-grandchildren: Eric (16), Caroline (13) and Andy (8) Davis, Henry (10), Ruby (9), and Gus (7) Edwards, and Oliver (4) and Harrison (9 months) Gibson. Pat also leaves behind a large extended family that she dearly loved.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday June 4th from 6pm-8 pm and Thursday June 5th from 1pm -2 pm at Dahlonega Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. with Rev. T.R. Myers officiating. Interment will be at Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jay Davis, Benjy Edwards, Grant Gibson, Eric Davis, Tim Woody, and David Woody, Thomas Galusha. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Edwards, Andy Davis, Gus Edwards, Oliver Gibson, and Harrison Gibson.
