On January 24, 2016 the Lord gave us all an angel. Beautifully strong in faith, courage, and love, Patricia Withee never gave up. She never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future - saying that worrying was a lack of faith. She spent her time, not thinking of herself as a cancer patient, but as an adventurer, an artist, a teacher, a cheerleader, friend, wife, mother, and grandmother. And as such she will always be remembered. Patricia, known to her friends and family as Patty, was born July 28, 1949 in Munich, Germany, and grew up a proud daughter of Dorothy and Col. Robert Agnew, an army brat though and through. After living from base to base she found herself in Fort Collins, CO where she attended Colorado State University. It was here that she met the man that would stand by her side and love her for 45 years, Warren Withee. After they were married, they lived in Colorado Springs and raised their three children. But those were not the only kids that would have a place in her heart. Filled with compassion and interest in others, Patty was an amazing teacher for over 20 years. She cared for each one of her students as if they were her own. It was though teaching she met friends that would become, her garden club, her stamping club, her support, and her laughter. Once she retired and moved to Atlanta she was able to spend time with her kids and her grandchildren. She was able to walk her daughter down the aisle, watch her grandchildren play sports, and skip off on adventures around Georgia with her one and only love. She spent the last year of her life, surrounded by those she loved, and continually embracing her faith in love, family, and God. The day she passed, Warren was by her side, holding her hand. Her family was standing next to her. She died in in the presence of God, pain free, and peaceful. On that day, we all received an amazing gift. The gift of a guardian angel that will live in our hearts forever. Patricia is survived by her husband, Warren, her children: Tim, his wife Alyssa, Katie, Maureen and her husband Ben; her grandchildren, Joel, Blake, and Anna. Her sisters, Joan and Joe Horn, and Kathi Milam also survive her, as does her Withee family: Craig, Patti, Janie, Kenny, Randy, and Jane, as well as her many wonderful nieces and nephews. A celebration of Patty's life will take place at 1:00pm on Friday February 5th. The services will take place at Saint Brendan's Catholic Church--4633 Shiloh Rd, Cumming, GA 30040. After the service there will be catered reception giving everyone a chance to talk and remember Patty.
