Pamela Alyce Wood

Pamela Alyce Wood, age 64, of Cumming, GA passed away on September 8, 2011 after a brave battle against cancer. Her smile, energy, and love of life will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends. A native of Long Island NY, Pam grew up in Coral Gables FL. She earned a master s degree from Rollins College after graduating from Florida State University where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma. She recently retired from a long career in the mortgage industry. Pam also thoroughly enjoyed teaching water aerobics. Another passion was bicycling. She organized biking trips and pedaled in most of the States and in Canada with her husband and friends. As a volunteer with the Humane Society of Forsyth County she kept the animal inventory records, was a foster parent, and served as an officer and board member. Survivors include her husband, Adrian Wood of Cumming GA, step sisters, Cathy Riley of Millersburg MI and Sally Gillies of Lapeer MI. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2011 at McDonald & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Hauert officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Atlanta Hospice or the Humane Society of Forsyth County.
