Pamela Daniel Heilman, loving and adored wife of Lanny F. Heilman of Cartersville, Georgia (formerly of Albert Lea, Minnesota) passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 5, 2016, after 20 years of battling cancer. She will be greatly missed by her husband and soulmate, Lanny, family, and friends who shared many good times with her and were the beneficiaries of her love and talents.
Pam, a former Houston and Atlanta decorator and Delta flight attendant, loved her husband, her home, her family, her friends, and her pets. She spent recent years and days decorating and taking care of their homes in Cartersville and Destin; traveling the country and world with Lanny and family; enhancing her own life and the lives of others with special projects, gifts, trips, and celebratory events; and exercising with her friends and her beloved bulldogs, Bogie and Thurston Howell, III. She enjoyed music, gardening, cooking, sewing projects, and sharing the fruits of her labors. Pam considered her early life blessed by incredible parents, childhood friends, and caregivers. Her most recent joy has been helping her son Tyler and his fiancee, Courtney, prepare for their wedding planned for December, 2016.
She lived every day to the fullest and leaves many mementos of a life well lived. We all learned and will continue to learn and grow from her legacy.
Pam is survived by her husband, Lanny; parents, Tim and Ramona Musselwhite, Cumming, Georgia ; son, Tyler Daniel (fiancee Courtney Foster), Atlanta; daughters Angie Harris of Cartersville, Georgia; Nikole (George) Dolson of Park Ridge, Illinois; and Meredith (Josh) Needleman of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Lauren Procter, Cartersville, Georgia; Parker Harris, Ft. Myers, Florida; Mia, Jenna, and Avery Dolson, Park Ridge, Illinois; Lake, Lucy, and Eloise Needleman, Dallas, Texas; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Coleman, Waycross, Georgia (fiance Perry Thompson, Byron); and brother Tom (Peggy) Musselwhite, Bainbridge Island, Washington; nephews Ryan (Stephani) Coleman, Brunswick, Georgia; Ross Coleman, Waycross, Georgia; Thomas Musselwhite, Hartford, Connecticut; Scott Musselwhite, Bainbridge Island, Washington; and many extended family members. Pam would also wish to include many precious friends; co-workers; Emory, M.D. Anderson, WellStar Hospital and Hospice physicians, nurses, and medical assistants; Visiting Angels caregivers; and special housekeeper, Robin Gibson, who cared for and supported her over the years.
A celebration of her life will be held March 12, 2016, at McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory in Cumming, Georgia. Visitation will be at 1 PM, followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 2 PM, and coffee and dessert in the dining area following the service. We invite you to honor her with your presence.
Pam loved spending time in Destin, and, in lieu of flowers, her legacy can be continued with a contribution to Trees of Destin, a project led by a close friend to plant palm trees there. Memorial contributions may be made to Trees of Destin, 65 Land's End Drive, Destin, FL 32541. Note on check: In Honor of Pam Heilman.
