Pacifico Manalastas

–

Ball Ground, Georgia

Pacifico Viernes Manalastas, born in the Philippines on July 29, 1944, passed away on January 21, 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the devoted husband to Julieta Manalastas, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Pacifico immigrated to the United States in August 1970. He began his career at Great Bear Water Co. and later joined Exxon Research and Engineering, where he spent more than 25 years as a chemical engineer and inventor before retiring in 1999.

Pacifico’s journey began in a humble home. He was one of nine siblings—four brothers and four sisters. Even in childhood, his intelligence was recognized. A schoolteacher recognized his potential and encouraged his parents to send him to a better school. As he grew older, Pacifico dreamed of becoming a chemical engineer. To support that dream, his father made the difficult decision to send him to live with an aunt who was in a better position to be able to help him pursue his education. Pacifico remained deeply grateful to her throughout his life. That gratitude shaped his character, inspiring him to help other family members—both from his own family and his wife’s—whenever it was possible to do so.

Before coming to the United States, Pacifico served as a manager at Radiowealth Company and taught as a professor at Feati University—remarkable achievements for someone in his late twenties.

Pacifico and Julieta raised two sons, Patrick and Pierre. Patrick is married to Mae, and Pierre is married to Lucia. He was a proud grandfather to Patrick’s children—Anya, Aidan, and Ander—and to Pierre’s daughter, Caelyn.

Beyond his love for his family, Pacifico took great pride in his professional accomplishments. He enjoyed working in the fields of agriculture and petroleum oil and is credited is credited with several patented innovations at Exxon Research and Engineering.

Pacifico will be dearly missed and forever loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, friends and the entire Manalastas family.
