Dahlonega, Georgia

Mittie Dianne Hampton, age 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at home in Dahlonega, Georgia. She was born on May 14, 1948 in Ocala, Florida to Jasper and Verna Edwards. Dianne is survived by mother; Louise Sanders, her loving husband of 45 years; Phillip Hampton, one son; Rick Hampton of Dahlonega, Georgia, two daughters; Maryanne (Ric) Anderson and Jessica (Mike) Denardo, both of Apopka, Florida, four grandsons; Alex, Jacob, Gavin, and Grady, brothers; Roger, Tommy, and Mike Sanders, and many nieces and nephews. Dianne overcame many obstacles in her young life, leading her to become the strong woman she was destined to be. She married Phillip in 1973 in Geneva, Florida. Together they settled in Oviedo, Florida and raised their three children. Dianne provided her family with love and comfort, through times good and bad. She taught her children, and many of those around her, the power of unconditional love and acceptance. She was known for her kindness and sweet smile. She was shy around new people but once she came out of her shell, she could be quite a fireball! We loved her dearly for this and often lovingly teased her. She took it all with a grain of salt. She taught us all to be honest, kind, and loving. To love without judgement. To always follow our dreams. To be true to ourselves. And to never give up. She will be forever remembered for her cooking, her holiday decorations and traditions, and her never-ending support. Her love of family surpassed her love of self, her children were her pride and joy, until her grandchildren were born. How soon we realized that her love of motherhood could be eclipsed by her role of grandmother! A memorial service will be held 3PM, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Oviedo, Florida. In memory of Dianne, please donate to The National Stroke Association or the charity of your choice. Most importantly, remember to be humble, kind, and loving to both friends and strangers alike, just as she would.
