Maximo Clavijo

Maximo Clavijo, 85, of Suwanee, GA passed away on August 23, 2016. Born in La Paz, Bolivia, he was the son of the late Primitivo and Juana Clavijo.

Maximo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Always planning large gatherings, he was happiest when surrounded by his family. He never hesitated to host or help anyone and always did so with a gentle smile. A proud graduate of Georgia Tech, Maximo earned two Bachelor of Science degrees. He retired from Storer Fabricating Company where he was a structural engineer. Maximo enjoyed traveling and was always off to new places. He attended St. Brendan Catholic Church.

Maximo is survived by his wife of 30 years, Fedora Clavijo of Suwanee, GA; children, Max (Kathy) Clavijo of Suwanee, GA, Juanita (Jack) Salo of Canton, GA, Gabe Clavijo of Atlanta, GA, Danny (Amy) Clavijo of Alpharetta, GA, Peter (Lynn) Clavijo of Cumming, GA, John (Penny) Clavijo of Dacula, GA and Jose Villanueva of New Mexico; sisters, Gaby Aguirre and Gloria Clavijo of Cumming GA; and 8 much-loved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his six children, Connie DeCoff Clavijo (1934 - 1970).

On Friday, August 26, 2016 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm the family will receive friends to join in celebrating Maximo's life at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at The Church of the Good Shepherd. Entombment will follow at Arlington Cemetery.

Family and friends are also invited to gather at the home of Max & Kathy Clavijo after the entombment. Directions will be available at the funeral service or upon request to a family member.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the Church of the Good Shepherd.
