Alpharetta, Georgia
Mrs. Maureen Tomasi Byers, age 59 of Alpharetta, Ga passed from this life on Friday, Dec 1, 2023 to be with her Lord and Savior. Maureen was born on January 20, 1964 in Adelaide Australia.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
Maureen had a unique and radiant beauty inside and out. She exuded light, love and joy through her actions, through her character and through her smile. Maureen, a faith-full and trustworthy friend. A rare soul. Resolute and clear in her priorities, demonstrated through her actions. Faith, Family, Friends. Maureen loved her God deeply and was a diligent student of His word. She was gifted in putting His word into action, serving, uplifting and inspiring others in all walks and in all circumstances. She loved her job and loved her work. She saw everyday as an opportunity to serve and to share and to build up those around her.
Maureen and her brother Steve were born to Ugo and Vickey Tomasi in Adelaide Australia.
In 1970 the Tomasi family immigrated to the United States. Maureen’s family settled in Alexandria Va and Maureen’s sister, Natasha, was born there. Maureen graduated from Florida College and Harding University. She taught 5th grade at the Florida College Academy where she met a maintenance man named Ralph. The two worshiped together at the Seminole church of Christ, became best friends (as he often repaired her white Mustang in exchange for cookies) and eventually became a couple. Maureen and Ralph married in 1992 and were richly blessed by God with Annette in 1995 and Jacob in 1998. In 2019 Annette met and married William Burcell and 12 months later, in 2020, God blessed Maureen with her beloved grandson, Joseph Edward and again in 2023 with her namesake, Annabelle Maureen.
Maureen is proceeded in death by her Father Ugo Tomasi and her sister Tonya Tomasi. She is survived by her husband Ralph Byers, her daughter Annette Burcell and husband Willy, her son Jacob Byers, her brother Steve Tomasi and his wife Melanie, sister Natasha Kimbro and her husband Scott, nephews Ethan, Drake and James, nieces Megan and Elena.
