Mary Dean Wolf

–

Ball Ground, Georgia

Mary Dean Wolf of Cumming, GA passed on to heaven at the age of 90 on December 21, 2023. She is survived by four daughters, Mary Lisa Riley, Stephanie A. Wolf, Kathleen Wolf McCormick, and Wendy Wolf Grimes. Three sons by marriage, Archie Riley, Bob McCormick, and Greg Grimes. She was the proud Grandmother to Luke, Cassie, Matthew, and Deborah Kay Riley, David, Amanda, Stephanie, Courtney and Allison McCormick, Wyatt, and Gordon Grimes. The great grandmother to Charlotte and Michelle McCormick and Townes and Audra Riley. Mary Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Eugene Wolf, parents Wendell and Margaret Ohmes, her brothers Wendell and Albert Ohmes, and sisters Dorlene Lawrence and Rita Seago and daughter Margaret Alexia Wolf.

Mary Dean was born on May 19, 1933, in Greely Kansas. She moved to Rollins, Wyoming in her Junior year and graduated from Rollins High School in 1951. She met the love of her life, Walter Eugene Wolf, on a blind date ordained by God. They married on June 16th, 1956. Married 65 years and 3 months, they are a great example of the grace granted through the Sacrament of Marriage. After being stationed in Germany, Walt and Mary Dean returned to the states where they raised a family of four daughters. While Walt traveled frequently for his career, she managed the household and frequent transfers and moves when they were promoted and kept up with four young girls all while staying active in the Catholic Church. She taught CCD, was a Eucharistic Minister, ministered to the homebound, led weekly prayer meetings, and sang in the Choir. After moving to Georgia in 1976, she was an Administrative Assistant at Wesley Woods Health Center for 9 years then went on to participate in the family giftware business. She showed her daughters how to be strong and independent women and be an advocate for themselves and those they love. As a woman of faith, she was an example for everyone to put Jesus first in all things. Her kindness, humor, strong faith, and love of family will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

The Catholic Mass celebrating her life will take place on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 10:30am at St. Peter Chanel, 11330 Woodstock Rd., Roswell, GA 30075. The interment will take place Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 12:30 pm. at the Georgia National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John Bosco Academy, 4708 Shiloh Road, Cumming, GA 30040 or The Quest Atlanta Catholic Radio, PO. Box 88892, Atlanta, Ga. 30356
