Mary Mae Winstead

Mary (May) Winstead, 98, of Cumming, Georgia died Friday, October 16, 2015. May was born in New Bern, North Carolina on January 6, 1917 to the late Albert & Nellie Maine. May graduated from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, N.C and became a school teacher for more than 25 years in the DeKalb County School System. She married her husband Bill Winstead on May 28, 1940 and were married for 54 years and had 3 children, Bill (Pat) Winstead Jr., Newnan, Ga, Carolyn (Tom) Barber, Cumming, Ga , Mary Ann (Robert) McDonnell, Arizona. She had 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. May was a proud and devoted member of Cumming United Methodist Church and an original member of the "Sorta-Fifty" Sunday School class that she adored. She loved spending time with her family at her home on Lake Lanier and playing bridge in various bridge clubs in Cumming. The family will receive friends at 2:00 Sunday, October 18, 2015 and a memorial service and celebration of her life will follow at 3:00 at Cumming United Methodist Church in Cumming, Georgia.
