Mary Beth Fowler

–

Dahlonega, Georgia

Mary Beth Fowler, 56, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on February 14, 2025. She was born on September 19, 1968, in Tallahassee, Florida.

Mary Beth grew up in Cumming, Georgia, and spent most of her life there. She graduated from Forsyth County High School and Lanier Technical College. Her work in life reflected her kind heart and gentle spirit. She began her career as a veterinary technician, where her love for animals and the peace of nature blossomed. She especially cherished dogs and the wild birds that graced her yard.

Later, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), providing in-home care for the elderly. Mary Beth found her true calling in caring for others. Her patients often described her as a calming presence, with one lovingly calling her “silk” because of her gentle, effortless way of being there when needed. She was passionate about her work, treating each patient with compassion and dignity.

Mary Beth had a kind and even-keeled soul. She would do anything for anyone, always offering support. Her greatest joy was her son, Christian Sawyer Haygood, whom she adored and of whom she was immensely proud.

Christian is married to David Myers, and together, they brought Mary Beth much happiness.
Mary Beth is preceded in death by her step-father, Harold Bolton.

Mary Beth is survived by her mother, Sandra Bolton, her father, Adrian Fowler (Karen), her brothers, Kevin Fowler and Brook Bolton (Staci) and their children: Braydon, Brookann, Brynn, and Brielle; and her sister, Jenni Waller (Mark) and their children: Bryan Waller (Michelle) and Brandon Waller (Hannah).

Mary Beth will be remembered as a dedicated caregiver, a loving mother, and a friend to all. She was a steady presence in the lives of those she touched, a woman with a heart full of kindness, a witty sense of humor, and a quiet strength that will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter or hospice organization, causes close to Mary Beth’s heart.

Rest in peace, Mary Beth. Your gentle spirit and loving heart will forever be with us.
