Mark D'Arcangelo

–

Cumming, Georgia

Well, folks, it seems I've made my grand exit. Mark D'Arcangelo, your charismatic, loving, humble, and funny friend, penned this incredibly charming obituary. Born in the frosty tundra of Buffalo, New York, on February 11, 1945, I made my way to the peachy paradise of Cumming, Georgia, where I've kicked the bucket on July 29, 2024. And before you ask, no, I did not see that one coming.

Employed in the tireless occupation of being retired, my days were filled with the noble pursuits of painting miniature soldiers, assembling models, cheering for the Buffalo Bills – even during their less-than-stellar seasons – and challenging myself with crossword puzzles. When I wasn't headbanging to my favorite tunes or sharing a laugh at the Moose Lodge and with fellow Masons, I was fulfilling the esteemed role of the world's #1 Grandfather (a title awarded by a highly reputable and unbiased panel of my grandchildren). I found joy in attending Brown's Bridge and participating in small groups, always living by the verse, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Family mattered most to me, and I considered myself awfully lucky to have such a cracking bunch – my sons, Jason and Bryan, my daughter Lyndsey, daughters-in-law Melissa and Erika, and grandchildren Liliana, Titus, Maggie, Elena, and Alexia. I was preceded in death by my beloved wife, Nancy, and my parents, Benedict and Margaret D'Arcangelo. I'll be sure to let them know you all say hi!

So, gather round at McDonald & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at 11:00 am for the visitation. Then join in the celebration of my life at the same venue at 12:00 pm. I can't guarantee I'll be there, but here's hoping spectral attendance counts!

In the spirit of my never having met a stranger, I encourage you to share your favourite memories and photographs of me on the memorial page. I look forward to haunting, er, seeing them. And remember, keep it funny, keep it simple, and keep it real. Just like I did.
